Overview of Aramid Packing
Aramid packing is one of the most expensive and rare packages suitable for sealing. Many people still know this sealing thread by the old name of Kevlar. Kevlar sealing packing is woven from aramid fibers and for lubrication and flexibility of this packing as much as possible; Aramid fibers are impregnated with silicone oil or Teflon compound. Aramid fibers have a longer life compared to other fibers and refractory yarns and also show a very high resistance to tension and abrasion. This resistance is so high that aramid refractory fibers are used in the military industry, one of which is the manufacture of bulletproof vests. For this reason, the production and import of aramid fibers all over the world is associated with many restrictions and also has a very high price. Aramid sealing packing has many applications in harsh environmental conditions, even in conditions where the fluid in question contains solid suspended particles such as iron filings. Other features of this product include the following: Excellent mechanical and static resistance among all sealing packages, excellent strength, excellent resistance to chemicals and resistance to gamma rays, X, etc. The thermal tolerance of aramid sealing packing (Kevlar) has been measured up to 280 degrees Celsius, however, this product is able to maintain its strength well at 340 degrees Celsius and perform its tasks well. Sealing of pumps, shafts and tanks of petrochemicals, refineries, platforms and oil tanks
Application against oils, greases, acids and weakened bases
